Depending on the AR platform you are publishing to, you may have access to different performance and success metrics.

Facebook

The metrics provided by Facebook for AR effects are quite limited. To access insights for Facebook effects:

  1. Go to Spark AR Hub

  2. Go to the Effects page

  3. Click on your effect

Under ‘Insights’, you will be able to see metrics for:

  • Impressions: The number of times your effects have been displayed on screen. Impressions are recorded in Facebook stories and posts.

  • Opens: The total number of times someone opened your effects in the Facebook camera.

  • Captures: the total number of times someone took a photo or a video using your effect.

  • Saves: The total number of times someone took a photo or video while using your effect and saved it to their device.

  • Shares: The total number of times someone took a photo or video using your effect and then shared it.

If you are running AR ads on Facebook, you will be able to access some additional metrics:

  • Instant Experience view time: The average time that people spent viewing the AR effect in your ad.

  • Effect shares: The total number of times someone shared a photo or video using the AR effect in your ad, whether to a story or a post.

Instagram

The metrics provided by Instagram for AR effects are quite limited. To access insights for Instagram effects:

  1. Go to Spark AR Hub

  2. Go to the Effects page

  3. Click on your effect

Under ‘Insights’, you will be able to see metrics for:

  • Impressions: The number of times these effects have been displayed on screen. Impressions are recorded in Instagram posts and stories.

  • Opens: The total number of times someone opened your effects in the Instagram camera.

  • Captures: the total number of times someone took a photo or a video using your effect.

  • Saves: The total number of times someone took a photo or video while using your effect and saved it to their device.

  • Shares: The total number of times someone took a photo or video using your effect and then shared it.

Snapchat

AR metrics on Snapchat depend on whether you are publishing a Community Lens or a Sponsored Lens.

Community Lenses

The metrics provided by Snapchat for Community Lenses are quite limited. To access them:

  1. Go to My Lenses dashboard.

  2. To see the metrics for your Lens, click on the dropdown arrow on the right.

For Community Lenses, you will be able to see the following metrics:

  • Views: the number of times the Lens has been viewed

  • Plays: The number of times the Lens has been activated in the camera in Snapchat

  • Shares: The number of times the Lens has been shared on Snapchat

The metrics provided for Sponsored Lenses are much more in-depth. To view these metric, go to the Snap Business Manager and log in.
